What is Speech Pathology?

Speech Pathology is a field of healthcare that focuses on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication disorders and swallowing difficulties. Speech pathologists, also known as speech therapists, work with individuals of all ages to improve their speech, language, literacy, swallowing and social-communication skills.

What to Expect in Speech Therapy?

During a typical speech therapy session, clients can expect a supportive and engaging environment. The speech pathologist will conduct assessments, set goals, and implement tailored activities to address specific communication challenges. Sessions may include:

  • Discussing your goals for communication
  • Assessment, formal or informal, to establish needs
  • Trialing best practice therapy interventions to find the one that works best for you
  • Discussing what practice will look like for you at home before our next session

Are you NDIS registered?

Yes.

We are registered to see clients of all ages through the NDIS or NDIS Early Childhood Approach. We see clients who are self-managed, plan managed or have their plan managed by the NDIA.

Where are you located?

We are located within the Goodsoil coworking space (which is the old Child Health centre) in Kingston. Our address is 29 John St, Kingston. Park directly in front of the building and head through the Goodsoil glass sliding door to find us down the corridor.

We have ample private parking right outside our clinic rooms with level access at 29 John St, Kingston.
